Full Life Roadmap

Church's talk about a vision and a mission.  Companies have a mission statement.  What about individuals?  Should we have a mission and vision statement for our lives?  I think so.  How else can we judge if our choices will take us the direction we want to go.

In my coaching time with Joel Boggess there is a worksheet he sent to me that asked a series of questions about my personal mission statement.  I document them hear as a reminder, a memorial to what I believe God wants for me and my life.

1. Personal Mission Statement

(answers why I am here)

Gloify God by....

  • Loving God
    • Surrendering my will to God, daily in all things
    • Allowing Him to lead and guide me without my interference
    • Knowing Jesus, not just knowing about him, but knowing Him intimately
  • Loving myself
    • Learning to see myself through God's eyes and God's love
    • Learning to see the value in myself that God see's in me
    • Learn to look at my strengths not only my faults, a positive view
  • Loving Others
    • Helping others see themselves as God sees them
    • Helping them to grow into thier full potintial
2. Strength Statements
(captures the essence of the strength by how it makes me feel)
  • I feel strong when I am connected to people (who are these people?)
  • I feel strong when I am part of the group working toward a worthwhile goal
  • I feel strong when I am leading, teaching or guiding others on ways to grow
  • I feel strong when I am challenging others to be more than they are today
  • I feel strong when I am supporint emotionally those that are hurting
  • I feel strong when I am leading those who want to make a real change in their lives to accomplish that change.
3. Weakness Statements
(captures the essence of the weakness by how it makes me feel)
  • I feel weak when I am lonely
  • I feel weak when I don't think anyone cares
  • I feel weak at my job because I feel trapped
  • I feel weak when I am forced to make decissions that take me away from the things I love
  • I feel weak then I am rejected (a core fear)
4. Guiding Principles & Values
(how I choose to live)
  • To be real, meaning my behavior mirrors who I really am.
  • To be genuine - not hypocritical.
  • To have integrity in my actions and words.
  • The be worthy of others trust
