Action Plan

With all this information I have been putting together for my personal development and growth, the through occured to me that also need a plan of action.  I use the illustration with coaching people with Weight Loss that they need three things to succeed.  They need to know the destination, they need to know the route to take, and they need to follow the plan they have put together.  I also emphasize the reasons why they want to loose weight. 

I think many of the other pages I am putting together really speak to my "why's", though if I need to I will work on them also (and find a place for them).  Here I need to list some specific actions I need to take to start putting into action the things I have been talking about.  I need to start acting on the plan.  I need to start following the map a bit better.  This as everything else is a work in progress and will be updated over time.

 

  • Spend 1 hour a day in personal time with God.  This is not study for a class or working on songs for worship, this is just for my Lord and I.  It is the time I need to take to stay connected to Jesus.  It is the time I need to take to fall more in love with Him.  It is the time for nothing else but loving Him and growing into Christ.
    • Take time to chew on the Word of God.  Repeat it over and over in your mind.  Make the effort to really make it apart of yourself.
  • Spend time investing into someone elses life every day.  This can be at work, at play, at home, and at church.  Make a conscious effort to make time for someone else. I won't talk about me at all in this time, but only about the other person.
  • Spend one hour a day journalling.  This can be relistening to the audio notes I have made throughout the day and writting them down to excercising my mind to reinforce my goals and direction (Watch Earl Nightingale discuss this idea).
  • When I am faced with failure,  _______________.  This is blank because I don't know what to do about this yet.
  • Spend 5 hours a week studying for lessons.  Apply the advice from Timothy and study to show I am approved.  
    • 2 Timothy 2:15 NET  Make every effort to present yourself before God as a proven worker who does not need to be ashamed, teaching the message of truth accurately.
    • 2 Timothy 2:15 NKJV  Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
  • Every Momement Counts - Never waste a moment of time.  Even moments of rest matter.
  • Getting out of a slump, despair, depression, or feeling like a failure.  What to do:
    • Take a walk.  Walking gets the body moving.  Many times when I am "down" all I want to do is sit or lay around.  Moving the body gets the blood flowing and the muscles working.  It creates motion where there was none.
    • Listen to uplifting, exiting music.  Were talking jumping songs here, songs that make you want to dance and move.
    • Call someone.  Call a close connection and talk about what's going on.  This needs to be someone that is able to pour into you life, someone spiritually mature.  If you had a Paul in your life this would be someone, but a Barabbas would also do.  This cannot be a Timothy.
    • Do Philippians 4:8 NIV  "Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things."  Listen to something from your library that will encourage you.  Remember goals that you have accomplished.  Review them in your mind.
    • Make sure to get enough nutrition into your body.  In fact, over do it!  Have multiple Herbalife Shakes.
